Grain Free Almond & Hemp Seed Porridge

This is a gluten free alternative to oats, is grain free & dairy free. Why grain free? For some, avoiding grains or at least keeping them minimal in the diet can help reduce gut inflammation. This recipe is higher in healthy fats and with the added hemp seeds provides a good source of protein. If you have ever been diagnosed with insulin resistance or PCOS then you need to take a really good look at your breakfast. .....healthy fats & protein at breakfast is a must to keep blood sugar & insulin levels stable I add lots of berries and sprinkles of seeds for extra crunch & natural sweetness. You can add more or less cinnamon depending on your taste preference ~ cinnamon is also great for balancing blood sugars!

Ingredients

3/4 cup unsweetened almond milk

1/4 cup almond flour

1/4 cup unsweetened shredded coconut

1 tablespoon ground flaxseeds

1/2 tsp cinnamon

1 – 2 tablespoons hemp seeds

Method

Add all ingredients to the saucepan over medium heat. Whisk continuously until your desired thickness is reached. Approx 3 – 5 minutes.

Serves 1 – 2
